What is Hypnotherapy?

 

Hypnosis is not a state of sleep but a state of relaxation varying from light to deep. Tests have shown that a person is neither unconscious, nor asleep. Tests have also shown that a person in deep hypnosis is in a state of deep relaxation and is engaged in normal mental activity.

What's the difference? Hypnosis or Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is extremely beneficial for change when used to help your client to eliminate certain habitual conditions such as; smoking, over eating, stress reduction, fears and phobias and for the improvement of certain conditions such as confidence building, pain management, sexual issues and feelings of loss and bereavement.  An area becoming more interested in the use of hypnosis and therapy is the issue of performance improvement.  Performance improvement is not only possible in the business world to improve productivity and quality of individual and group or team performance, but is increasingly becoming more widely used to improve individual athlete or team sports performance. 

 

 

How can Hypnotherapy help me?

For thousands of years people have been using hypnosis to assist in learning, healing and to improve performance not only professionally but sexually too.  Hypnosis has been used to eliminate cravings and urges and to combat phobias and fears.  Hypnosis is also an incredible tool to facilitate the changing of habitual behavior such as biting nails and smoking, its a superb tool too to assist in weight loss and weight management.  Confidence building and self esteem can also be improved with very noticeable results almost immediately..

 

 

Are there any side effects?

 

None whatsoever, you are full in control at all times. There are no detrimental side effects at all. 

Will I lose control?

Not whatsoever, in fact it is more the case that you will be more aware and more focused on your surroundings but in a deeply relaxed state of mind. You may, if you wish leave the relaxed state at any time you wish.

What is Thought Field Therapy?

Discovered and developed by clinical psychologist, Dr. Roger Callahan PhD, Thought Field Therapy (TFT) is an innovative and rapidly effective form of psychotherapy.

In a typical treatment acupuncture meridian points are tapped with the fingers in a precise sequence whilst the client focuses their thoughts on their emotional problem. Most people notice an immediate and dramatic improvement in the way they feel following its application.

The finger tapping of meridian points on the body appears to break the connection between triggering thoughts / perceptions and the troublesome emotional response, similar to the deactivation of a computer program by the input of a “delete” command.

Following successful TFT treatment, the individual is still able to experience the relevant emotion, whatever that may be, but now only in appropriate situations. The disappearance of the sufferer's ability to reactivate their emotional problem is also often accompanied by significant cognitive change.

TFT has also undergone considerable “field testing” in the most challenging of situations. In October 2001, for example, Dr. Shkelzen Syla, Chief of Staff with authority over all medical decisions in Kosova, officially adopted TFT as the treatment of choice for those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, (PTSD) in the region. This followed a 100% successful supervised clinical trial.

It is important to state that the procedures do not work on everyone nor for every problem. However, research has indicated that in excess of 75% of individuals undergoing TFT can expect to obtain the perfect resolution they seek. 

What is NLP?

Developed during the 80’s by Richard Bandler and mathematician and John Grinder a linguistics professor, NLP is a set of techniques that when used will reprogram how a thought or emotion represents itself within your mind.  In other words you can change how you think about anything on the unconscious level and the new behavior's and patters will replace your old way of thinking.  A totally positive way to think differently - permanently.
